TEDx Cambridge: FOOD!

Today, we attended TEDx Cambridge at the MIT Stata Center.  This TEDx event was inspired in part by Jamie Oliver’s TED Prize wish “to create a strong, sustainable movement to educate every child about food, inspire families to cook again and empower people everywhere to fight obesity.”

Dan Ariely, behavioral economist and best selling author of Predictably Irrational, kicked off a line-up of fascinating speakers, including NYTimes "Scent Critic" Chandler Burr, entomophagist David Gracer, mixologist John Gertsen, wine economist Coco Krumme, and chef Wylie Dufresne.

See some photos below of Wylie Dufresne speaking about the incredibly versatile egg...

...and one of the highlights was all of the unique food tastings, including Francisco Migoya's incredible chocolate capsules containing bizarre yet delicious flavor combinations (think foie gras+eucalyptus, bacon+french toast, all in a chocolate shell), and some Miracle Berry tasting...

The closing reception featured locally-sourced food made on-the-spot by Chive Sustainable Event Design and Catering

And lots of drinks (from Drink, and local specialty beverage makers) and cheese!

The Copley Square Farmer's Market

This week we visited the Copley Square Farmer's Market, located right in the heart of Back Bay, between the Boston Public Library, the Fairmont Hotel and the historic Trinity Church.

One of the most exciting applications of Fenugreen paper is in farmer's markets. Small local farmers bring the best of their harvest but are unable to refrigerate their stalls/displays for several hours at the market.

We talked to a lot of farmers at the market about Fenugreen -- they were very excited and eager to get some samples of Fenugreen paper! We hope we can work together to keep their produce farm-fresh for longer.

 Checking out Fenugreen paper

Sharing some photos of strawberries that have been preserved in Fenugreen

Talking with farmers is one of the most fun things we get to do at Fenugreen! We love to see their enthusiasm, ingenuity and immense knowledge about our food.

Welcome to the Fenugreen blog!
